Athletiq Youth Development Foundation (AYDF) seeks to provide programs and services that support and maximize the individualized goals and dreams of youth athletes by applying the principles of the long-term athlete development model.  AYDF accomplishes its objectives by convening, coordinating and collaborating with diverse, nonpartisan thought leaders, innovators, scholars and influential members of the sports community to address some of the most complex problems facing youth athletes while building a lasting and  collaborative relationship with each athlete. By applying our expertise and wisdom to address issues, create and build tools, and deliver solutions, AYDF helps youth athletes achieve their dreams and aspirations.

Why "Q" in Athletiq? Because "Q" signifies the uniqueness of the individual among the "sea" of teams, communities, and organizations. It represents the ability in everyone and the greatness potential in each one. "Q" suggests omnipotence and attractiveness, the elements we believe exist in every single youth athlete. Our Foundation is organized to reach each youth athlete and bring their individuality to the surface - whether in the serenity and solitude of a personal training environment, or among the throngs of fellow athletes participating in intensive competitive activities. Our objective is to ensure the ultimate satisfaction, accomplishment and enjoyment for each athlete seeking growth and development.

Our History

AYDF is the re-imagined and re-formulated non-profit organization that grew out of the success and influence of its' predecessor foundation. In its previous incarnation, the foundation had a more limited mission focusing exclusively on those athletes participating in one specific sport. Serving as a "Chapter" for that sport, the previous foundation distributed grants to over 35+ different schools, clubs, and programs over the course of its 12-years of community service.

As the trends, needs, flaws and weaknesses of the youth training market were exposed for its questionable insufficiency and ineffectiveness, the leaders of the predecessor foundation realized that there is a dynamic opportunity to provide more meaningful and impactful knowledge, activities and services to the global youth sports community. Collaborating with the foundation's previous parent organization, the Athletiq Youth Development Foundation was formed and configured consistent with its revised mission and vision.

Our Goals

  • Study, research, analyze and develop ideal training curricula for youth athletes according to the general principles of long-term athlete development;
  • Engage content experts, national governing bodies, sports organizations, coaches, athletes and parents in dialogue, exploration and delivery of optimal training and development programs, services, and activities;
  • Participate in delivering scaled and balanced competition events in proportion to the priorities of skill development, fair play, enjoyment and safety;
  • Regularly, continuously and accurately match-fit youth athletes with sports organizations, coaches, and schools to optimize their learning, trining and development;
  • Provide a toolkit of technical services that facilitate research, analysis, learning, growth and development and aid in the placement of athletes in the most optimal developmental setting;

Our Guiding Principles

The following principles reflect our beliefs about the role of active community service and philanthropy, and the impact we hope to achieve among our individual athlete members and across sports community organizations and coaches delivering services.  These principles guide what we do, why we do it, and how we do it.  While many of them are fundamental to the way we operate, we remain open to amending them as we grow and learn more about our work and the effectiveness of our initiatives.

  • Guiding Principle #1: This is a sports-driven foundation focused on the needs and interests of each individual member.
  • Guiding Principle #2: We are thought-leaders, shapers, and influencers — we collaborate with others to act and implement.
  • Guiding Principle #3: Our focus is clear as we prioritize the issues facing the growth and development of individual athletes across the nation.
  • Guiding Principle #4: We apply our efforts to achieve results and impact change and improvement.
  • Guiding Principle #5: We advocate—vigorously but responsibly—in our areas of focus.
  • Guiding Principle #6: Delivering results with the resources we have been given is of the utmost importance.
  • Guiding Principle #7: Meeting our mission requires great stewardship of the money we have available.
  • Guiding Principle #8: We leave room for improvement as a Foundation in our ongoing support of the growth and development of individual athletes nationally.
